Guest Artist--Tracy Leagjeld "One Orange Square"

Monoprint
32"x26"
Oil-based printmaking ink on board
visit Tracy's blog for more information

Tracy Leagjeld's monoprint technique invariably produces texturally interesting work that is full of beautiful subtleties of color. She is a master at what she does. Much of her work has centered on the landscape of central Oregon and other places she has visited, but she is currently working more abstractly. She has been finding interesting compositions within her existing work and using those little bits to create full-size pieces that stand on their own. I hope you will visit her blog for a visual treat!

Tracy is a friend, artist and one of the owners of the gallery I show at here in Bend. It was fun to draw her but it was also a challenge because she is very fair-haired and fair-skinned. I didn't want to have the values too dark, but I also didn't want her to disappear on my paper! Tracy has begun a blog with her artwork on it. Her address is http://tracyleagjeld.blogspot.com/. She does amazing monoprints, mostly landscapes. Her sense of color is excellent and her technique is really unique. I hope you'll take a look!
