The lyrics "hot fun in the summer time. . ." keeps going through my head!  Well, hot or not here in Bend, this was definitely fun to paint!  Everytime I look at their faces I smile.  I enjoyed, too, the opportunity to really slather on the paint for the fountain effect.  The scene is the fountain at Waterfront Park in Portland, OR.

"Study For Three Graces" (sold)

8"x6" unframed, 14"x12" framed
Oil on Panel

These 3 little girls are playing in a fountain at Portland (Oregon's) Waterfront Park.  I am getting ready to do a 30"x22" painting of them so decided to try it small first!  What fun to paint!  What a subject!

"Water Dance" (sold)

7"x5"
Oil on Gessoboard

Doing this little painting was a welcome reminder of the hot hot weather we had until just a few days ago--now it must be no warmer than the high 60's! This little girl was playing in a fountain at the waterfront park in Portland, OR and loving it. It was a kick watching the kids run in and out of the spray, and then there were those who were barely getting their feet wet and feeling pretty daring about that!
