"Baby Charlie"

6"x6"
Oil on Panel
NFS

This little painting is of my new grand-nephew at 5 days old and is a gift for his mom and dad.  When his sister was born a couple of years ago I tried to do a painting of her as an infant but really never liked it very well.  It's a challenge to not let the texture of the brushstrokes destroy the look of the soft baby-skin--because I want both!  I think this one went pretty well.

When I painted with oil I never tried babies.
Just take a look at babies by the masters. Some are terrible.
It is very difficult. You should consider remaking the eyes.
The mouth and nose are nice.
