Oh, those best-laid plans--gone awry! I am leaving tomorrow for a week to go meet my brand new grandson, Theo Alexander! Pretty exciting! I had hoped to finish my next bucking bronc linoleum block print for today's post, but too many details to wrap up before leaving! So, I realized that I had never posted this painting and decided to do so. "Dog's Best Friend" was painted nearly two years ago--when I was discovering daily painters and at the beginning of my going out with my camera in search of subject matter. It's good to remember the excitement of all that. When I discovered the Daily Painters, and Karin Jurik in particular, I felt like I had a whole new world open up regarding my own creative endeavors. This painting brings that back. I like it! I would like to paint this subject again and see how it would be different. . .

I will not be posting for at least a week, but will begin again by the 22nd at the latest. Wishing you all May-flowers. . .

We will miss you but know that you will be enjoying your new grandson! How wonderful!
I love the painting ... hard to believe you painted it two years ago!

Have a good trip!

It would be a cool experiment to revisit the same subject a couple of years later.
