This little painting is a "rerun"! Just so much happening the past few days that I haven't been able to have enough concentrated time to finish up a painting, so I decided to bring out one of my favorites that I painted over a year ago. That's the upside of busy right now--revisiting a painting that really brought me alot of joy in the doing of it. I loved catching her in mid-step. . .

This painting is a repeat post--hate to do that, but wanted to put up something today!! It was another of those days-- I painted all afternoon and just never got it! Seems like this is happening alot lately--paint, wipe off, paint, wipe off, and on and on! I am reminding myself of something that was told to me years ago by a painting teacher: when you seem to be going nowhere and things just aren't turning out, it's because you are learning something new. I do believe this, but I can't say I like the process at the moment! Anyway, this little painting here is from the Cadillac Cafe in Portland, OR. The lighting and her posture inspired me here (and in the drawing!).

The Cadillac Cafe in Portland, OR is the site of this painting. It was hard to stop--noodling is one of my favorite things, I guess. Thanks to my best critique-er, my husband and artist Gary (Vincent), I managed not to overdo it!
